The welding performance advantages of 7075 aluminum alloy are mainly reflected in its high strength and good mechanical properties. 7075 aluminum alloy belongs to the Al Zn Mg Cu series superhard aluminum, which has high strength, good mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance. Its Young's modulus is usually between 68-75GPa, much higher than that of ordinary aluminum alloys, so it can still maintain good strength and toughness at high temperatures. In addition, 7075 aluminum alloy has good plasticity after solution treatment and particularly good heat treatment strengthening effect, especially with high strength and excellent low-temperature strength below 150 ℃.
However, the welding performance of 7075 aluminum alloy is relatively poor, and stress corrosion cracking is prone to occur during the welding process. In order to improve welding performance, two-stage aging treatment can be adopted, which can enhance the stress corrosion cracking resistance of the alloy. In practical applications, 7075 aluminum alloy is commonly used in fields such as aerospace, automotive, and mold manufacturing. Although its welding performance is limited, it can still play an important role in these fields through reasonable processes and protective measures.
Application fields of 7075 aluminum alloy
Despite its poor welding performance, 7075 aluminum alloy has been widely used in aircraft manufacturing. Due to its workpiece being over 40% lighter than steel, it can achieve significant energy-saving and emission reduction effects, and therefore has broad application prospects in fields such as automobiles, rail vehicles, motorcycles, and bicycles.
1. Aviation ultra hard aluminum, through nano technology, solves the defects of hot cracking tendency and shrinkage cavity in die-casting, making it capable of die-casting molding
2. After treatment with 7075NT-T6, the yield strength can reach 490MPa, the tensile strength is 534MPa, and the HV hardness is 180
3. Mainly used for manufacturing aircraft structures and other high stress structural components that require high strength and strong corrosion resistance, such as upper and lower wing panels, beams, etc. It can also be applied to mold processing, mechanical equipment, fixtures, etc
